Bali Trip (23 - 25 Jan 2012)
BALI TRIP (23 - 25 Jan 2012)

23 Jan

We reached Bali at 11.47am :)))

*** Check in at hotel and proceed to our first destination:
Some temple (I forgot the name of it, but it housed one of the largest hindu god/mythical creature)

*** Lil uncle took a picture with the stone carving
(The bird-like creature seems to be very popular in bali)

*** Performance - it is very similar to the lion dance in the chinese culture

*** Yeah... bro and I like the scenery. The vans at the background --- there was filming going on

*** This is the massive stone sculpture

*** Massive stone sculpture no. 2

*** We went to Uluwatu. No picture to provide. I was freaked out by the monkeys.
Nonetheless the scene is amazing and rather breathtaking.
Note: The monkeys do snatch loose items such as spectacles, cameras etc. My mom got her specs snatched. There will be staff members to retrieve the items.(They gave the monkeys food ... barter trade) However, do prepare at least Rp 50,000 to return their "favour". My mom only gave Rp 15,000 and reproved the staff for not taking care of the monkeys.

*** We had our dinner at Jimbaran. We went to Menega (as recommended by Daddy's customer from Indonesia). The food is affordable (it is one of cheapest among the stalls at Jimbaran. The seafood is also scrumptious :)))

*** Went back to hotel and discover these cute towels

24 Jan

*** Wake up at 6.00am and set off at around 8.25am to Ubud Monkey Forest
The behaviours of those uluwatu monkeys still daunted me. Heee... timid me.
OK... the monkeys in ubud do not touch human beings. They are gentle creatures :))) But, if you are intending to feed the monkeys with bananas, be prepared to have 2 or 3 monkeys trailing you throughout your journey :))) [I WAS STILL FREAKED OUT][FOR ANYONE WHO WANT TO TRAIN TEST THEIR REACTION TIME, do it with the monkeys :)))]

*** Holy Spring Temple :)))

*** Then, we went off to kintamani. Two volcanoes and a lake :))) The volcanoes are still active. I love the volcanoes (OK... I loved every stones, plants, and more stones). And I believe these volcanoes are stratovolcanoes (Their lower slope are gentler)

*** Waterfall ~~~
We climbed down the slope to reach the bottom of the waterfall. The sight is much more spectacular from the bottom of the waterfall. Dadddy was perspiring like mad and commented that the route to the waterfall is a real-life obstacle course. Didi and lil uncle, on the other hand, were like ~boing boing boing~ from one rock to the other.

*** "A place like a temple, but not a temple", said the driver

*** We went to beach. And I did nothing, cause I did not have any shorts and slippers as "beach" was not in our itinerary. Didi fell down while trying to climb up the slippery rock and was wounded. Didi said that everyone was shocked when they saw the wound and expressed disgust, except for me. My reaction when I saw the wound- "O I see..."

*** So, we have to missed out on the seafood dinner on the 2nd day... and had chicken and duck meal instead. :)))

*** We then proceed to purchase some T-shirts and souvenirs for relatives.

25 Jan

We need to be at the airport at 3pm

*** We went to a different beach. I wrote my name on the beach... haha... and my 2 cousins were wondering why someone else has the same name as me :)))

*** Last temple of our trip :)))

*** Went to a handicraft centre to purchase some woodern handicraft and a shopping mall to buy clothings for did.

*** Airport: Checking in took almost an hour ... OMG...
Aunt was attracted to the polo ralph lauren shop (there was a 50% sale going on, and 60% on the 2nd shirt), and she insisted on buying a shirt for me. I adamantly declined to accept her gift. At the end of the 3-day trip, mom got me a Bali T-shirt and I got myself a handphone chain (My old one is spoiled)... that's all :)))
